25 of April, 2009Fuengirola Beach Cup NEWS
Due to the adverse weather condition today in Fuengirola, we will move to an emergency rosta for tomorrow. Based on current weather forecasts, it is our intention to complete all Division 2 & 3 games tomorrow starting at 8.00 am and complete the last CPL preliminary
rounds starting at 14:00. Unfortunately it will be impossible to complete any further SPL & Div 1 games. All uncompleted games will take place in Bitburg. We appologies for any inconvenience caused but this circumstance is beyond our control.
27 of March, 2009ATTENTION
Hotel Beatrice Palace only has 15 rooms left.
Don't dispair, we've managed to get a great deal from Hotel Las Piramides, on the seafront about 400m from the Castle. It's a 4 star hotel and many of you stayed there last year. It's a great hotel with a pool, gardens and a first class Pizza restaurant and it's located on the main strip, full of bars, restaurants and discos.

13 of March, 2009Millennium Series ROF cap in 2009:
In a move to come closer to a world wide standard of rules and procedures and as discussed at the CPL/SPL team owners meeting in Amsterdam, the MS will adopt the same ROF cap (10bps) as used in the PSP. The rules will be updated shortly by following wording of rule ''10.01 Markers''
- The first 3 shots must be semi-auto mode only.
- Markers will be limited to a ROF of 10 balls per second (in 2009 actually 10.5 bps), defined as no two consecutive shots may be timed shorter than 95ms apart (reading on ROF meter of 10.5 bps or less = legal; reading on ROF meter of 10.6 bps or higher = illegal).
- Ramping of shots will be allowed only once 5 bps has been achieved. Then the marker may ramp to 10 bps, but only as long as the 5 bps is continually maintained. Once the trigger is stopped to be activated, only one single additional shot may be discharged.
Clarification: the 5 bps for start/sustain ramping dose not need to be hit physically, it refers to the time delay between trigger activations, which must be at least the equivalent to 5 bps. So a marker may start to ramp up to 10 bps, if (after the first three shots being in semi-auto only) the time delay between 3rd and 4th trigger activation is less than 200ms.

06 of March, 2009DIVISION 2, FUENGIROLA BEACH CUP - NOW FULL
We are please to announce that Division 2 is now full at 32 teams for our first event, The Fuengirola Beach Cup.
''This is the fastest ever that Division 2 has filled and is yet another great and positive sign that this event is going to be one of the best Millennium events to date. It is further proof that the Millennium Series has been working hard to change with the times and provide what everyone in European paintball wants. In these times of economic turmoil, the Millennium is showing that it is still able to put on the greatest Paintball Series in not only Europe, but we believe in the world'' says Barry Fuggle CEO.
We fully expect Division 3 (the only remaining open Division) to fill quickly, before the entry deadline, so if you would like to register your team for this event please visit:
/teams.php?team=register
The Fuengirola Beach Cup will be one of the largest tournaments that the Millennium has put on with over 160 teams expected to attend. Please do not miss out on the opportunity to compete at this exciting event.
05 of March, 2009Dear Teams, Paintball Industry and Players,
Firstly to update you on Malaga,
The Fuengirola Cup; we are very pleased to say this is now really shaping up to become an amazing event to kick of the season in the sun and is sure to eclipse last years event. We have some really kick ass stuff laid on for you including a players mega party to be held in no less than the Fuengirola Castle, which over looks the venue, with the full cooperation and support of the local council and the Mayor. With Eurosport filming the event you could also have your moment of fame as well.
Hotels are filling up fast, so if you want to take advantage of the Millennium deals offered, you need to do so very soon before the hotels open up the blocked deals to the general public.
With this in mind if you fancy treating yourself to a bit of luxury then why not stay at the Hotel Beatrice Palace Spa?! This is just 20 mtrs from the venue with great sea and beach views. We have negotiated great rates and block booked the rooms exclusively but the hotel will only hold these for another 14 days before they release them for general sale and revert to standard rates. The Beatrice is going to be the centre of life at this event with its numerous bars and restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools and spa facilities.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Fuengirola Malaga and starting the season with a party in the sun to wash away the credit crunch blues. We are now pleased to announce confirmed dates and venues for Germany and the UK. These are;
Bitburg is back on the 29th -31st May 2009
The Millennium returns to Bitburg to the same great hotels and area, but a brand new and larger venue on the aerodrome just 500m from the old venue. Having listened to you, the players, and how you wanted that great party atmosphere back in Germany we have fixed up a great event with the Eifelstern hotel at the heart of everything. With its new bar and Nightclub as well as new clubs and bars around the hotels it promises to be just that.
Full booking info and great special deals will be posted on the web very soon so keep a look out for details.
New venue for UK
The UK event is now confirmed as once again in Basildon, London but at a new venue of Barleylands Show Grounds on the 18
th to 20
th of September 2009. Due to the development of the former venue we had to locate a new one and have come up with a great alternative. Being just 1 mile from the old Gloucester park site it offers great grass pitches and access, and being a show ground the danger of the great British weather turning it into a mud bath has gone with hard standing walk ways for the trade area and field access. Best of all we still retain the closeness of the hotels and the great leisure, restaurant, bars and clubs of the festival park.
Again full details will be posted on the web in the next few days.
As for our 5th and final venue we are still in final negotiations and will be issuing a statement very soon on this, but what we can say is that it will be an excellent and exciting addition to our series.
We would like to thank all of you the players, teams and industry for your continued support and patience it has not been an easy task to pull together for 2009.
See you all on the beach in Spain.

Managing Director
23 of January, 2009For
2009, the paintball industry is on the way to harmonize the game format. A bridge has been created between the major leagues and
Sup'AirBall will therefore slowly bring the Millennium Series and the PSP field to a common ground. In that perspective, the 2009 Millennium Series Upgrade kit will be a pack of 8 Trees, thin cylinders about 3.3ft wide and 5ft tall, already used on the PSP fields for a few years.
Those new bunkers will bring the Millennium Series field to a 44 bunkers package and offer new options for the field layouts and a fast paced game.

22 of December, 2008THE PAINTBALL SHOW ON EUROSPORT
Many of you may already have seen the Paintball Show on Eurosport 2 last week featuring the 2008 Millennium Paris event. However, due to live coverage of the Olympia Horse Show, the UK will get this program at 20.30 (UK Time) on December 23rd.
The show is well worth watching and will give you an insight into how the profile of our sport is now going to be raised to a new level.
15 of December, 20082009 Gun & Product Clarification
The Millennium Series has a fine line to walk between the needs of the sponsors
and those of the players in order to raise the necessary funding to produce a
series of high level professional events at as reasonable a cost to the player
as possible. At the same time The Millennium makes massive efforts behind the
scenes trying to raise the profile of the series and teams in order to attract
funding for all from new outside industry sources. The results of this work will
now hopefully start bearing fruit during the course of 2009 with benefits for
all.
The primary goal of The Millennium Series has been to market the sport to a wider
audience in order to ensure new players are attracted to play paintball, (not
necessarily our series), at every level ensuring the good health of the industry.
The Series only exists in its current form due to industry sponsors. Without them
either the level of professionalism would be considerably lower than today, therefore
not being attractive to a wider audience, or entry fees would be so high that
all but a very few rich teams could afford it. Either way without this there would
be no series fit for purpose.
Many of our sponsors have supported us for several years, and as a result have
supported the teams that play the Millennium. There are also many companies that
have not supported us, and of course they have the right not to, but use the Millennium
very successfully to market their products. Whether this is fair or not is a matter
opinion, but we think what is clearly not fair is the few paying for the many.
We also have to bear in mind current economics and try to widen the source of
funding in order to maintain the necessary level of professionalism required if
we want to achieve our goals.
Certain statements have been made on various forums that are blatantly not true
or only tell part of the story. Due to client confidentiality we cannot enter
the fray each time something is written but we would like to make the following
clarifications that should give you a good idea of when certain claims are at
best being exaggerated.
For 2009 we are asking gun manufacturers, (who enjoy the most direct marketing
benefits of the Millennium), to support the Millennium at a minimum level of a
Gun Display Sponsor. The cost for this is €10,000 for the entire series,
not the €60,000.00 that has been claimed in some forums. To ensure there
is a benefit for all new and existing sponsors we will also protect them in so
far as ensuring only guns from a sponsor can be used in the locked divisions,
those benefiting the most from TV coverage. It was always our intention not to
impose this on Division three and after further discussion we have also decided
to extend this to Division 2 teams. We feel this is a fundamentally fair position
for all. We have had discussions with all major manufacturers both old and new
and at no point did anybody have a major negative reaction to this. In fact at
the meetings held in Paris & Orlando, everybody left us with the firm impression
that they were on board. There are some other manufacturers that we are currently
talking with to try to ensure no major gaps occur for the players. We also know
of certain manufacturers who intend to assist any teams who may have issues here
through a variety of assistance programs.
There are manufacturers in paintball that heavily invest in furthering our sport
and support teams widely. Without these people there would be no real competitive
paintball anywhere in the world. They deserve our support and the support of the
industry.
There are other statements being made relating to other products, hoppers, packs
etc. It is not the plan of the Millennium to impose any restrictions on players
regarding any other product except for Paintballs which has been the case for
some years.
The interests of all parties involved with The Millennium Series is a continual
balancing act which of course can never make everybody happy all of the time.
However, very few people have contacted The Millennium directly with any real
complaints on these issues.
We hope this release has been of assistance in clarifying our position. If you
have any further questions, please dont hesitate to
contact
us directly for further assistance.
